Scary Numbers

I first saw this on Doug Wilson's blog. It puts the current financial crisis is some scary perspective. The numbers are staggering, even considering the lost purchasing power of the dollar from 1920 to 2009.

Good post / video, though I sometimes think the "lost purchasing power" phrase is a ghost terror. I severly dislike centralization of banks, but "inflation" of currency seems a categorically different problem when it causes the currency to become worthless and drives the public into poverty vs. when currency inflates, but standard of living simultaneously increases. This could simply betray my lack of economic knowledge!
